The Role
We’re hiring a VP R&D to lead our global R&D department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for translating our quantum scientific breakthroughs into scalable, market-ready products while leading a world-class team of physicists, quantum engineers, and software developers.

What you'll do
- Lead and mentor senior engineering leaders while fostering a culture where speed meets quality
- Translate product roadmaps into engineering plans
- Cross-functional collaboration: partner closely with CTO, Product Management, Sales, and the CEO to ensure the technical strategy supports market demands.
- Technical Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of code quality, system architecture, and scientific rigor across all development cycles.
- Lead the development of next-generation, AI-powered and agent-based products
- Drive deep adoption of AI across the R&D lifecycle, from coding and testing to architecture and delivery
- Introduce measurable frameworks to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery velocity
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, preferably within a Deep Tech or high-growth startup environment.
- + 3 years of experience leading and managing an R&D organization of 50+ software engineers with responsibility for people leadership, delivery execution, organizational growth, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong background in developing languages, modern software engineering practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) and system architecture.
- Deep understanding of modern architecture (Saas,...)
- Hands-on experience with AI technologies and/or leading AI adoption in engineering organizations
- Strong people leadership with proven cross-functional collaboration skills
- Educational degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
